But resolutions are easily broken and life is too short, so we at Timberline Condominiums have resolved to make our resolutions fun ones, including eating good food, playing more, and traveling often, and if we didn’t already live in Snowmass, we would make our first resolution one in which we resolved to travel here. But since we do live here and you don’t, we are going to put our efforts toward making others see that a New Year’s resolution to travel to our mountain hometown of Snowmass is the best way to ensure that 2025 will be the year your life shines bright and your soul find its happiness. Take A New Year’s Trip to Snowmass
As much as we love Christmas, it really isn’t a time of peace, is it? We are forced to cram even more activities into days that are already too short, and as we spend too much money, spend too much time at the stores fighting our way through the crowds, and spend far too much time cleaning the nooks and crannies of homes in preparation for grumpy uncles and gossiping aunts, we find ourselves wishing for a break. We yearn for fresh air, clean and crisp, for quiet moments without frenetically happy Christmas songs burning holes in our eardrums, and the feel of the wind kissing our cheeks as we schuss our way down mountains blanketed with snow. We understand that not everyone is a skier, but we can promise that everyone will enjoy the après ski experienced at the end of the day. Fireplaces bringing warmth to your exterior, cocktails warming you from the inside, and the leisurely realization that you can, and will, sit for as long as you like, sipping, savoring, and relaxing for the first time in a very long time!
Resolving to Eat Well
There is a world of difference between eating well and eating better, and when you choose to enjoy your last meal of 2024 at TORO Kitchen & Lounge, you will immediately understand what that difference is. Located at 130 Wood Road in Snowmass Village, the Latin inspired menu is designed to feed your soul as it fills your belly, and because life is better when you eat dessert, we are totally going to recommend that you take a tour of their dessert menu, perhaps stopping and exploring their carrot cake that is soaked in rum, also serving to warm you from the inside out! Now, just because you chose to make a resolution to travel to Snowmass, it doesn’t mean you will be making the trip for New Year’s Eve, but if you do, we suggest celebrating at TORO; their NYE Gala offers an elevated buffet, optional wine or champagne pairings, and music and dancing that lasts until 1 AM. Their high tea dessert menu provides the perfect ending to the meal and beginning of the new year, and a toast at midnight is sure to bring joy into 2025.
The Torchlight Parade
Another popular New Year’s Eve activity in Snowmass is the Torchlight Parade. The mountain is lit up by a procession of skiers gliding down the slopes with torches in hand, with intermediate skiers and boarders 8 and up invited to join in the fun, registering online. Registration is first come, first serve with a maximum of 250 skiers permitted, but even if you don’t make the cut, watching from the sidelines is destined to be a joyful experience. Be sure to come back at 10PM to watch the skies light up with colorful explosions; the last fireworks show of the year is another shouldn’t be missed New Year’s Eve event.
