April 20, 2025, is a monumental day to the world, and to all of us in Snowmass Colorado, as it is Easter Sunday and is also the day Snowmass Ski Resort is scheduled to close for the season. So yes, it is possible we will have mixed feelings during that day, but let there be no confusion about how great of a time you will have during your visit, should you be planning on hopping over to Snowmass for a stay in our condos and an Easter celebration that will be unlike any you have ever celebrated before. Easter 2025 Getaway to Snowmass
Kids are very cute, but they are also master detectives, finding out your secrets before you even realized you had one, and if you try to travel to Snowmass while packing all the ingredients for the best Easter basket ever, they will find out. So, wait until you arrive and pick up the stuff you need at local shops, including Clark’s Market, located at 16 Kearns Road in Snowmass Village, where you can buy your eggs for boiling, your candy for the baskets, and quite possibly the Easter baskets themselves. If you want to save a little money and/or don’t really see yourself carrying the basket back with you on your flight home, there is a dollar store in nearby Carbondale, and you know they will have baskets, grass, and probably little gifts that you can add to the basket, ensuring that your kids will be happy and your bank accounts will have some extra green, perhaps to enjoy an Easter brunch.
Speaking of Brunch
The fully equipped kitchens in our condos are a joy to behold and are there to be used for making an Easter meal, keeping your beer and wine cold, and storing all your snacks, but if you don’t want to cook on Easter, most restaurants will be open, serving something holiday like, including TORO Snowmass, 130 Wood Road in Snowmass Village. They haven’t released their menu as of yet, but in previous years, reservations were required, and the menu offered a combination of holiday inspired dishes and regular brunch fare, all of which, in TORO’s usual tradition were absolutely fantastic!
A Time Honored Tradition with a Twist
The sunrise service is a tradition you’ve followed your whole life, and although you will be far from home this Easter, you have options. The first, of course, is to find a church here in Snowmass and join in their service, knowing that you will be welcomed by all; we’re a friendly bunch in Colorado and always feel that more is merrier. If you don’t feel comfortable in unfamiliar surroundings, it is very possible that your own church streams their sunrise services, and your holiday hideaway offers high-speed internet which will allow you to easily stream the service. Or, you could go a completely different route, rising with the sun to commune with nature and enjoy a few blissful moments of peace, quiet, and a sky filled with color. These moments may be the most impactful ones, calming your mind, soothing your soul, and bringing a sweet joy to your vacation life.
Easter Escapades in Your Timberline Condo
Our condos are designed to make you feel at home, and you may decide that you want to stay in and celebrate, a decision that we applaud. Gather all the ingredients for a brunch at home, (Clark’s Market is good for that as well) and spend some time in our fully equipped kitchens preparing your family’s favorite dishes. If you’re not in the mood to cook, but you still want to make the holiday a memorable one, boiling the eggs and then decorating them in our dining area promises to be a fun family event with very delicious consequences. And even though you are staying in a condo, there are plenty of places for the Easter Bunny to hide the eggs you decorate, including the lovely balcony where you may have spent a few precious moments watching the sunrise earlier in the day. Large flat screen televisions, possibly hanging over the mantel of the fireplace, will entice families to watch their favorite holiday shows, offering pictures so clear it may feel like you are a part of the movie you are watching.
A Little Extra Fun
The closing festivities at Aspen Snowmass will add another layer of fun to your Easter adventures, offering live music, DJs, food, drink, and the Elk Camp Surf & Snow Beach Party, an exciting celebration with a Pond Skim (skiing down the slope to skim over the slushy pond at the bottom) at its center.
