Many people think of Snowmass as a winter vacation destination—an understandable thought, as our ski resort is renowned worldwide—but we at Timberline Condominiums have a secret we want to share with you. Snowmass is a four-seasons vacation destination, and our summer visitors, especially those traveling over the 4th of July, fall as deeply in love with our mountain town as quickly and easily as our winter visitors do. Independence Day falls on a Friday in 2025, and whether you are choosing to travel for just the long weekend or have decided to make this week in July your annual vacation, this list of top spots to enjoy over the 4th of July in Snowmass will make your celebration one that you won’t ever want to end, especially when you get to return to your Timberline holiday hideaway every night!
Top Spots to Enjoy the 4th of July in Snowmass
You may be wondering why the first thing on our list of top spots to enjoy happens to be in Aspen, but you will soon learn that Aspen and Snowmass are towns located so close together, you may not even realize that you have left Aspen and entered Snowmass or vice versa. Aspen’s Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration is one that is enjoyed by all the nearby towns, and when you see the list of events we show below, you will understand.
Kids on Bikes, Paepcke Park, 10AM to 11AM
There’s something wonderful about a small-town parade, and perhaps most of its charms lie in the procession of kids riding decorated bikes through the streets, something you will be entertained by with the Kids on Bikes July 4th celebration. And as the title suggests, this parade is for kids riding bikes only, but even though you probably left your kid’s Schwinn behind, (Does Schwinn still make bikes?) being a spectator will be a memorable part of your day.
Community Village, 10AM to 2 PM, Cooper Walking Mall
It’s community and family that make every celebration wonderful, and Community Village offers the opportunity to get to know our community as you explore the beauty of classic cars, dance and sing along to live music, and shop at the booths of vendors that line the aisles. This community event is a family friendly and memorable one that will make your heart smile.

Old Fashioned 4th of July Parade, 11AM to Noon, Downtown Aspen
Parades and fireworks have been a part of Independence Day celebrations almost from the very first one and the Aspen/Snowmass area takes great pride in honoring our country with a procession of floats, classic cars, and red, white, and blue everything. The streets of Aspen are lined with excited bystanders, dressed in their own patriotic colors and waving tiny flags fervently and it is almost impossible to not feel proud to be an American when experiencing our Old Fashioned 4th of July Parade.
Aspen Valley Ski & Snowboard Club 4th of July BBQ, 12-3 Koch Park
This day just keeps getting better, with the 4th of July BBQ feeding your soul while filling your belly. Offering barbecue, of course, but also providing live music, a beer garden, a wine & tequila bar, and a variety of kids activities including Bouncy Houses, face painting, and yard games, it may be difficult to tear your tiny travelers away from this activity, but that’s ok, there’s still plenty of beer, wine, and tequila to keep you interested!
Aspen Music Festival & School 4th of July Concert, 4 PM, Benedict Music Tent
The school band provides traditional live music in this fun concert, bringing joy to all who attend. Simply charming, it is yet another activity that we believe the celebration of our nation’s birthday wouldn’t be the same without.
Let’s Take the Celebration Back to Snowmass
Of course, there are activities that will take place in Snowmass, with our favorite being the free concert series, The Spazzmatics on Fanny Hill. Taking place in Snowmass Base Village and offering a retro 80s twist to this traditional musical celebration, visitors can also expect sweet treats and free glow in the dark goodies at this fantastic dance party!
But What About the Fireworks?
The Spazzmatics take the stage at 6:30 PM, performing their hearts out, until it is time for the Fireworks extravaganza. The sky over Fanny Hill lights up with hundreds of colorful explosions and as you and your family ooh, aah, and revel in the beauty, you can be thankful that you took the time to enjoy an old fashioned, all-American 4th of July celebration during your Colorado adventures!
Can You See the Fireworks from the Balcony of Your Timberline Condo?
While we can’t guarantee that every condo will have a view of the fireworks, we do know that some will, offering up a relaxing way to end this day of celebration. Contact us to reserve your favorite Snowmass holiday hideaway today!
