Maroon Lake is flanked on either side by summits known as the Maroon Bells that reach an impressive height of 14,000 feet each. Snowmass 4th of july

Working hard is a part of life but finding time to relax and unwind somewhere scenic and exciting is just as important. When you’re a traveler with a taste for outdoor adventure and just as much passion for panoramic mountain vistas, there’s no better place to find yourself than Snowmass, Colorado. This inviting locale is known for its incredible slopes and options for solo fun, but when it comes to guided experiences, there’s plenty of that to be enjoyed too. When you’re putting those finishing touches on the itinerary, the following top Snowmass tours shouldn’t be left off the list.

Give Guided Hiking a Try

While many people make their way to Snowmass in the winter season to pursue sensational opportunities on the snow-covered slopes, when that same snow melts away, Snowmass reveals itself to be a place that’s packed with hiking opportunities too! Visitors will find that Snowmass is surrounded by the pristine White River National Forest which encompasses a breathtaking 2.3 million acres of land. The hiking trails established within that great expanse are seemingly endless but from Snowmass alone, adventurers will find well over 80 miles of trails that can be customized to a few hours of trekking or make for a multi-day journey if that’s preferred.

While many outdoor enthusiasts are looking to take on the trails solo or in groups of family and friends, those who prefer a guided experience will find plenty of opportunities for that as well. While you’re in town, consider pairing up with the team at the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) when you’re hoping your adventure will come with a healthy dose of inspiring education. Guided hikes through ACES range from 45-minute treks through the mountains to 2-hour excursions that take a closer look at the plants, flowers, and wildlife that thrive in this area. Alongside your naturalist guide, you can enjoy a themed hike that focuses on everything from high Alpine trees to Ice Age discoveries. Those who are interested in bird watching will love the birding guided hike that gives trekkers every reason to look up and see who shares the skies overhead.

Make It a Guided Mountain Biking Experience

As fun as it is to discover the many Snowmass trails on foot, there’s perhaps nothing more thrilling than picking up the pace and making the most of mountain trails by bike! You don’t have to be an expert on two wheels to enjoy this adventure, especially when you book your guided mountain biking experience with the team at Blazing Adventures. Some would say that mountain biking is a way of life in the Snowmass area, and taking time to experience for yourself promises to be a highlight of your getaway. Guided mountain biking experiences can be customized according to skill level and preference for time on the trails.

Keep the Fun Alive with Kayaking

There’s really no reason to limit the fun when you’re in the Snowmass area and if you’re a fan of guided tours, your mountain biking experience with Blazing Adventures can easily be paired with a trip down the river! This company also specialized in guided inflatable kayak adventures that give guests a chance to wind their way down the Roaring Fork River in style. Inflatable kayaks are often referred to as Duckies and are known to be more stable than their hard-surfaced counterparts. This makes kayaking the ideal guided experience for beginners and experienced water adventurers alike.

Enjoy a Jeeping Tour

The guided fun just keeps coming when you work with Blazing Adventures during your Snowmass getaway. This premier provider of outdoor recreation is also ready and waiting to provide visitors with access to one-of-a-kind Jeep tours that are sure to delight! If you’re looking for an exciting and adrenaline-pumping way to see the mountain sights, this option is sure to impress. Follow your experienced guide into the heart of the Elk Mountains where rugged terrain and spectacular views are perfectly paired. As you climb these backcountry mountain roads, your guide will provide insight into the area’s amazing flora and fauna too. It’s a trip that’s as engaging and insightful as it is unforgettable.
