Guide To Your Winter Journey in Snowmass, Colorado

Snowmass, Colorado is probably best known for its white slopes and its five-star ski resorts which people flock to in the cold months. There are beautiful slopes to take advantage of along with many other amazing winter activities. To help plan your next winter trip to our rentals in Snowmass, here is our suggestion for the best Snowmass, Colorado winter journey.

Day 1: Winter Alpine Coaster and Tubing

For winter thrills off the slopes, look no further than the Breathtaker Alpine Coaster. Riders will wind their way through over a mile of forest on an elevated track at speeds of up to 28mph. Located adjacent to the Elk Camp Restaurant, riders and passengers will be able to experience the thrilling ride during the day and during special Ullr Nights. They are currently only selling a combo ticket including access to both the Breathtaker Alpine Coaster and tubing, and reservations are required. The coaster may close early due to capacity; to ensure the best experience, you should try to arrive no later than 1:00pm. Snowmass also offers tubing facilities for the winter season. The multiple lanes are lift-served and carved into The Meadows at Elk Camp, with lighting facilities to illuminate the runs at night during Ullr Nights festivities. Tickets start at $54 dollars and give you access to the coaster and tubing all day.

On select nights during the peak of the winter season, Snowmass honors of the Norse God of Snow (Ullr) with Ullr Nights, a nighttime, winter wonderland party at Elk Camp on Snowmass. Friends and family take an evening gondola ride up to Elk Camp for outdoor winter activities such as tubing, riding the Breathtaker Alpine Coaster, snowbiking, s’mores and hot chocolate by the bonfire. We love to combine this with the Alpine Coaster and Tubing to make an amazing day.

Day 2: Snowmass Village Day Trip

Snowmass Base Village is home to an amazing assortment of different shops and eating establishments. We love taking a day to simply walk through the Village and enjoy the quaint downtown district of Snowmass. Along with the shops, there is the Collective Snowmass. The Collective Snowmass is the entertainment hub of Snowmass Base Village. This amazing entertainment venue features great places to gather, eat, drink, play, learn, and much more. One of the highlights of this district is the free ice skating rink. The Collective houses its activities in the large building in the Base Village, but adjacent to the building sits an adorable ice rink. The rink is open daily from noon to nine at night and is the perfect activity to wind down your day of skiing and enjoying the Snowmass Colorado winter.
