There is no better way to leave a year behind and begin a new one afresh than from a new location. And for those who love the beauty and activities that a snow-covered destination provide, Snowmass is just the destination. Located just nine miles west of Aspen, Colorado, Snowmass boasts uncrowded slopes and varied terrain that caters well to all skiing and snowboarding skill levels. Skiing & Snowboarding
It is probably no surprise that the biggest draw to Snowmass for most people is the excellent skiing and snowboarding. Snowmass offers terrain larger than Aspen’s other three mountains combined, though your lift ticket at Snowmass will also provide access to all four mountains. With so much terrain to choose from, you’ll never have to ski the same run twice if you wish. The terrain at Snowmass is well-varied, from runs that will help build the confidence of beginners to those that will challenge even the most experienced skiers.
Torchlight Parade
Enjoy a procession of red down the mountain as your last ski or snowboarding run of the year or watch it from the bottom as a spectator. Staying true to the love of the slopes, the 2022 ski year will be culminated with skiers and snowboarders making wide turns down the mountain as they carry red flares that illuminate the snow and sky with a festive glow. Anyone aged 8 and up with an intermediate skill level may participate. To participate, stop by the Ticket Pavilion on the Snowmass Mall before 4:45pm on December 31 to sign up. Participants at this Snowmass New Year’s Eve celebration will load the Village Express chairlift at 5:30pm, with the parade being held at 6pm.
Snowmass New Years Fireworks
Send the year out with a bang by enjoying the Snowmass New Year’s Eve fireworks show at Fanny Hill. With a brilliant display of fireworks lighting up the night sky and reflecting off the glittering snow all around, this will be an evening to remember.
Family Friendly Activities
Beyond the skiing and snowboarding slopes, families will enjoy access to activities such as tubing, an alpine coaster, and snow biking, among other options.
