Take in an Ice Sculpture Carving Demo

For the artistically inclined this holiday season, an ice sculpturing carving demo is never out of reach in Snowmass. Between December 8th and March 2nd, visitors to Snowmass Village will find an ever-changing ice walk display to enjoy with live demos available to watch on Wednesdays. Local sculptor Thomas Barlow puts his skills on display at these demos, inspiring audiences and thrilling them with his final works too. Ice sculptures that adorn the ice walk include everything from ice animals and gondolas to snowflakes and more. All of the final ice sculptures make for a great photo opportunity and are sure to inspire creativity in those who observe this beautiful form of art.

Try Game of Stones

If curling is your idea of holiday fun, the Snowmass Game of Stones is sure to please. This curling series is hosted Thursdays at Snowmass Base Village ice rink starting December 30th and running through January. This event invites teams of two participants to take turns sliding 40-pound granite rocks down the ice rink. The goal is to make it to the target and a point is awarded for each stone that gets close. The team to reach 10 points first is the winner. This is an 18 years and up event that promises to be fun for participants and observers alike.
