Spending Your Spring Break Vacation in Snowmass

Music starts at 6:30 pm and drinks are sold on-site to quench any thirst that might arise as you’re singing along with your favorite tunes. If you’re arriving with a vehicle, parking is available at Town Park Station as well as the Brush Creek Intercept lot. There’s also an option to hop on the free shuttles to Snowmass Mall and Base Village when you’re looking to make your concert-going experience that much more convenient. Located at 49 Wood Road in Snowmass Village, The Collective is a family-friendly stop as well as a hub of fun community events for visitors of all ages throughout the summertime. Here, visitors can enjoy a weekly lineup of programming that ranges from bingo nights and comedy nights to live music, educational talks, and chess nights as well. The Mawita restaurant on-site is a great way to infuse Latin-inspired fare into the experience as well whether you’re dropping by to participate in a game night or just looking to socialize. The Collective Game Lounge is a public play space where visitors can drop by Tuesday through Sunday from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at no cost to enjoy everything from table tennis and foosball to wall murals and board games in good company. On April 7th, spectators can see True Story Band take to the stage while on April 14th the performance venue welcomes Wild Flight. Easy and free parking is readily available to visitors at Town Park Station as well as the Brush Creek Intercept Lot. There are also free shuttles that run to Snowmass Mall and Base Village that allow spectators to eliminate driving from the entire experience. Head Over to Big Hoss for a DJ Party

Take your Snowmass fun and adventure into the late hours on April 1, 2023, when Big Hoss hosts DJ B2. This event kicks off at 9:00 pm at 45 Village Run Circle in Snowmass Village. It’s scheduled to run until 11:30 pm and is hailed as one of the best late-night parties in Snowmass! Big Hoss Grill is a great place to grab a bite while you enjoy dancing and singing the night away. The menu here features everything from pasta and southwest fare to BBQ and ribeye steaks, but it just might be the handcrafted cocktails that add to the party experience this spring.  

Book an ACES Snowmass Snowshoe Tour

While spring means visitors to Snowmass are getting closer to the fresh powder melting away, there’s still enough lingering on the ground to keep the ACES Snowmass snowshoe tours up and running this season. Through April 14th, ACES Snowmass snowshoe tours will run daily at 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. Participants on these spring tours will enjoy exploring the Aspen Snowmass terrain as well as its intriguing winter ecology alongside a naturalist from the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies. The tour covers a mile and a half of terrain, and groups meet at the top of the Elk Camp Gondola. Tickets can be purchased online in advance at $75 for adults and $56 for children and seniors. Winter clothing, warm boots, sunscreen, and water are highly recommend to make this experience comfortable, and enjoyable.  

Explore the Snowmass Luminescence Display

Through April 16, 2023, visitors to Snowmass can enjoy admiring the Snowmass Luminescence display between sunset and 9:00 pm. This illuminating experience brightens things up when the sun goes down and includes a variety of light displays and interactive art exhibits alike. The display is hosted by Snowmass Tourism as well as Aspen Snowmass and dazzles guests with its collection of LED illuminated arches and walkways to wander through. There are also large-scale LED installations that include Evolution Field by Matt McConnel and Lumiverse Transporter and Electric Dandelion by Liquid PLX to name a few. Evolution Field used motion sensors to set off waves of color through a fiber optic system. This gives the installation a colorful sense of movement that promises to inspire. Electric Dandelion hosts 28-foot-tall dandelion sculptures that light up and mesmerize with every visit!

One of the well-loved local holiday traditions returns to Snowmass Village in 2022 with the arrival of the Bud Light Game of Stones! Held on Thursdays at Snowmass Base Village Ice Rink, this fun and family-friendly event invites participants to try their luck at curling. The Bud Light Game of Stones is hosted between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm and invites teams of two to take turns sliding their 40-pound granite stone down the ice rink right toward the target button. Points are awarded for stones that get the closest to their target and the team that wins 10 points first wins the round. Registration happens at the rink prior to the event and anyone 18 and older is invited in on the holiday fun! Bud Light Game of Stones will be held on December 22, 2022, as well as on select dates in January and February 2023.

Participate in Ullr Nights

Another fun tradition to take part in while visiting Snowmass over Christmas is Ullr Nights. Head over to Elk Camp on December 28, 2022, between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm to make the most of the excitement and festivities! Ullr Nights is celebrated in honor of the Norse God of Snow known as Ullr. During this celebration, Elk Camp is decked out in its holiday best, and guests can enjoy everything from sledding and snow biking to s’mores and guided show shoe tours as well. There is also plenty of snow tubing to be enjoyed and the Alpine Coaster will be up and running as well. From the live music to the hot chocolate and campfires, it’s an event you won’t want to miss out on this year. Tickets for the Ullr Nights festivities can be purchased for $12 for adults while children 3 and under are free.   

Incorporate Savory S’more Moments into Your Stay

When you can’t imagine the Christmas holiday fun without some s’mores included, you might just find the Snowmass S’mores moments to be the highlight of your stay. Starting November 24th and running through the entire winter season, guests can make their way to Snowmass Base Village and enjoy free s’mores starting at 3:30 pm daily. Admire the Snowmass Luminescence Experience

Holiday lights, outdoor fun, and artistic inspiration collide seamlessly when the Snowmass Luminescence Experience comes to town over the holidays. Starting December 18, 2022, Snowmass Luminescence will be in full swing daily between sunset and 9:00 pm, much to the delight of visitors and locals alike. This interactive light and art display is presented by Snowmass Tourism. It’s an event designed to delight and dazzle the senses after the ski lifts close for the day. The mountains come to life with glittering holiday lights this time of year thanks to a combination of installations that are fun for everyone to admire. In 2022, installations include Wave by Squidsoup which is made up of 500 suspended orbs of light! Electric Dandelion by Liquid PXL is another inspiring installation to enjoy that offers admirers a setting featuring a combination of acrylic and steel sculptures representing a dandelion flower covered in light! At 28 feet tall, this dandelion features 41 light tubes and a collection of LED animations that bring the show to life in a colorful and animated style. Another highlight of this holiday event and installation is The Tunnel. Guests are invited to walk through a snow-covered illuminated path that stretches between Base Village and the Skittles Gondola. As you make your way through the tunnel, guests are treated to unique light installations that work on a 5-minute sequence to tell a story in color. It’s a visual journey that promises to be one-of-a-kind. Snowmass Luminescence runs through February 26, 2023.

In 2022, the event will be held on September 16th and September 17th. The festivities kick off with a 4-course wine dinner at the Viceroy Snowmass on Friday at 6:30 pm and the fun continues into Saturday with wine tastings across Town Park. The wines on-hand come from across the nation and globe giving wine experts and novices alike reasons to try something new. Those who buy tickets for this fall event will be pleased to know that all of the proceeds go to local scholarships and international grants given through the Snowmass Rotary.

The Jazz Aspen Snowmass Labor Day Experience is a 3-day music festival featuring a thrilling lineup of artists performing in an open-air setting with the mountains acting as a beautiful backdrop to the fun. Jazz Aspen Snowmass Labor Day Experience is hosted at the Snowmass Town Park which sits at 7,914 feet in elevation and can accommodate up to 3,000 guests at a time. While the music is sure to please, the view is just as delightful from this vantage point. Snowmass Town Park offers up exciting 360-degree views and provides seamless access to Snowmass Village. With over 400 vehicle parking spots available on-site, getting to the musical fun shouldn’t be a problem. Take Time to Hike Your Way Through the Holiday

Labor Day 2022 in Snowmass should bring with it refreshingly mild temperatures. This makes it the ideal time of year for visitors to hit the hiking trails before fresh powder falls. If you’re a traveler with a heart for outdoor adventure and a longing to hike up the boots and explore new pathways, Snowmass has plenty of options to discover. Summit Trail is a great place to start, offering hikers access to just under 2-miles of the trail to follow that starts at the top of Elk Camp. Take the gondola to get to the trailhead or consider hiking from Base Village up the Vista Trail instead. The peak of Summit Trail provides hikers with a tantalizing view of the Maroon Bells in the valley below—something well worth having your camera on hand for.  

The Crater Lake Trails is another inspiring option for those hikers looking for a bit more of a challenge during their Labor Day visit. This route is 3.45-miles in length and runs through the base of both the South and North Maroon Peak. This is a legendary scene that has many hikers returning to the trail with each visit to Snowmass. But the scenery doesn’t stop there.
