If you need a getaway with your sweetie that includes a breath of fresh mountain air, look no further than Snowmass. Whether the two of you come for some romance as well as winter sports, or you come for the many other romantic things to do in Snowmass Village the area has to offer, you’ll find something to keep you busy when you’re not snuggled up together in your accommodations.

Hot Air Balloon Ride

Want to sail high above the snow-capped mountains? Consider a hot air balloon ride. Above It, All Balloon Co. offers private flights that take you around the Aspen/Snowmass area, including the Snowmass Brush Creek Valley and over some lower more western mountains, but ultimately the decision lies with Mother Nature. Flights always take off at sunrise, but the beautiful Colorado landscape is worth the early start. There will also be a champagne toast to celebrate after landing. Flights last about three hours and will land at the original takeoff site.

Couples’ Massage

Relax together with a soothing massage that releases stress and tension. The spa at Viceroy Snowmass has a special treatment room just for couples. Their massages come in 60- or 90-minute sessions, and include a basic healing massage, earth and hot stone ritual, and even a chakra balancing massage. Add enhancements like deep tissue, CBD, hot stone, or shea butter quench just to name a few. There’s also a 30-minute “Alpine Express” ski-in/ski-out massage – a soothing upper and lower body massage that relieves tension and stress while improving circulation to get you back out on the slopes in no time.

The Edge

One of the many advantages of staying with Timberline Condominiums is our onsite restaurant, The Edge! Chef Jason DeBacker has put together an exciting menu of alpine-inspired creations you are sure to love. Main courses such as the Swiss Plate with bacon, pork chop, wurst, sausage, sauerkraut, potatoes, green beans, and mustard will warm your belly, while chocolate fondue or an apple strudel will round out your meal with a sweet finish.

Toro Kitchen & Lounge

Stay a while longer at Viceroy and have a nice meal. The Toro Kitchen & Lounge offers Latin American food made from ingredients provided by local farmers, ranchers, and artisans when possible. Enjoy a cocktail as you wait for your meal of beef tenderloin, Colorado grass-fed lamb chops, chipotle miso salmon, or whole-fried Colorado striped bass. They even have vegan and gluten-free options.

Skiing

There are four mountains to enjoy and keep your busy. Ride the chair lift together to the top of your favorite mountain and ski down together. If it’s been a while since you’ve been on the slopes, consider taking a lesson together. Private lessons are available, as well as small group lessons that offer skiing company. Before skiing lessons, you have to make sure that you have your ski gear and lift tickets.

Wheeler Opera House

Take in a show together! Opened in 1889, the Wheeler Opera House has been entertaining the area with opera, live theater, concerts, community events and more. It’s home to the Aspen Laugh Festival, Aspen Mountain Film Festival, and the Shining Mountains Film Festival. The Laugh Festival has played host to comedians like Jim Gaffigan, Trevor Noah, and Kathleen Madigan.

Ice Skating

The Lewis Ice Arena is an indoor facility that is open year-round. They have scheduled public skate times, so you’ll want to check the schedule before you go. The facility offers skate rentals and skate sharpening if you have your own gear. You can leave your valuables in your vacation rental at Timberline or you can rent one of the arena’s lockers.

You can also go ice skating at the Snowmass Village Ice Rink, located at Snowmass Village Town Park. You can enjoy free public skating by reservation only, and they offer two types of time slots: Stick & Puck and Public Skate. No ice skate rentals are available here.

One final spot you can enjoy ice skating is at the Limelight Hotel Snowmass. During the winter they offer a spacious ice rink and skate rentals for you to enjoy this winter pastime with family!
