Maroon Bells is a wilderness travel hot spot and glacial valley for Colorado-bound adventurers surrounded by several 14,000-foot peaks. It’s situated within a loop known as the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness which has the privilege of being one of only five destinations included in the Wilderness Act of 1964. Covering over 181,000 acres of land, this area is an amazing place to take time exploring, enjoying the wildlife, and learning about the diversity of ecosystems that call the mountains homes.

Maroon Bells in Snowmass calls many travelers to its protected parameters in the name of camping and enjoying the great outdoors. Four Loop Pass may just be one of the most iconic routes through Maroon Bells covering 26 miles of land and weaving through scenic Alpine lakes and captivating mountain peaks. The Conundrum Hot Springs trail is named for the reward hikers can enjoy at the end of this route. Those that take on this trek will cross three rivers during their journey and traverse a number of meadows and forests as well. No matter what trail you take to at Maroon Bells, you’ll want to have your binoculars handy as this area is home to a variety of creatures worth keeping your eyes open for from black bears, owls, deer, elk, and fox.
