To Hit the Slopes: December- April

Though the ski season usually begins around Thanksgiving and goes through the beginning of April, the months of December through the first week of April offer the most consistent snow and best conditions on the slopes. With nearly 200 inches of snowfall per year, you’re practically guaranteed pristine skiing and snowboarding conditions in Snowmass. Temperatures during these months tend to hover in the mid-30s, so be sure to pack plenty of layers, and especially if you plan to hit the slopes around the holidays, booking in advance is a must!

When to Visit Snowmass To Avoid the Crowds: September-October

You will find fewer crowds in Snowmass during the fall shoulder season of September and October. After the summer rush but before the cold weather descends, fall is a spectacular time to be visiting Snowmass. The leaves begin to change around the beginning of September, with beautiful fall foliage possible through mid-October. Temperatures range from the upper 50s to upper 60s, offering plenty of warmth for outdoor activities such as hiking and biking.
