8 a.m.   Boogie’s Diner Buddy 5 Mile Race
The Buddy Program, 920-2130: $35 per adult and $15 for 16 and under.  $80 Family 1 Mile Walk: registration includes 2 adults & 2 children (each additional related child is $10).  Day-of registration begins at 7 a.m. with additional $15 processing fee / or register on-line at www.buddyprogram.org

9:15 a.m. One-Mile Family/Canine Walk Race
The Buddy Program, 925-5717:  registration fee same as above, additional $5 per dog

10 a.m.   Kids’ Bicycle Decorating at Paepcke Park
The Hub of Aspen, 925-7978; Bike Decorating for Kids Riding in the Parade (HELMETS MANDATORY)

10 a.m. -  2:30 p.m.   Sixth Annual “America’s Birthday Carnival”
For more information, 429-2758; Early Learning Center’s kids’ carnival in Paepcke Park featuring games, BBQ, silent auction, bake sale, and July 4th souvenirs.

Noon   Old Fashioned Fourth of July PARADE
Main Street.  Participation is free, registration is required.  Aspen Chamber Resort Association, 925-1940 – Parade Entry Forms

1 p.m.  AVSC 11th Annual Community Picnic, Koch Park
AVSC, 925-2720 x 101;  BBQ, Kids Games, Live Entertainment and Beer Garden.  $10 for members, $12 for non-members, $5 for children 10 and under

1:30 p.m.  Aspen Art Museum’s 2nd Annual Fourth of July Picnic
Aspen Art Museum, 925-8050; Complimentary picnic, innovative parade float, Doug Aitken photography exhibition

2 p.m.    Free Skating Exhibition – Aspen Summer Skate Fourth of July
Aspen Ice Garden, 544-4116; Exhibition at the Aspen Ice Garden

1:30– 5 p.m.  Aspen Highlands 4th of July Family BBQ

4:00 p.m.  Free Fourth of July Concert 
Aspen Music Festival and School, 925-3254;  Aspen Music Festival Band, Benedict Music Tent

8 – 10:30 p.m. “Dancing In The Streets”
Aspen Chamber Resort Association, 925-1940; Community street dance/concert featuring the band “Network” on the Mill St./Cooper Ave. Mall area. (20 minute intermission during Firework Display)

9:15 p.m. Fireworks Extravaganza over Aspen Mountain
Presented by the City of Aspen  (TBD – weather permitting)
